Mr. Yiu Hung Chi is currently the Executive Director of the Hong Kong Employment Development Service (HKEDS) and has been working in the social service sector for more than thirty years. Mr. Yiu leads his colleagues in providing vulnerable groups and grassroots laborers proactively with employment services, training and retraining courses with the objectives of strengthening their job competencies and living skills and facilitating them to enter the job market. With Mr. Yiu’s initiative, HKEDS runs social enterprises to offer vulnerable groups and service targets with job opportunities and training placements. Mr. Yiu wishes to see the social enterprise movement gain a more important position in the government agenda as well as promoting a positive image to the public. He believes SE Chamber would be a platform to provide social enterprises and social entrepreneurs with networking and information exchange opportunities, and also to increase business opportunities.
