Mr. Ma Kam Wah, Timothy is the former Executive Director of Project Flame of the City University of Hong Kong. Mr.Ma is a registered social worker and a fellow of Certified Risk Planner. In 2012, he was appointed as JP and was later awarded Medal of Honor by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2019.
Since 1996, Mr. Ma has been actively involved in the development and the support of social enterprises in Hong Kong. He co-founded the Social Entrepreneurship Forum with Dr. KK Tse in 2008 and is an active member of the Organizing Committee of Social Enterprise Summit. In Nov 2015, Mr. Ma was re-appointed as a co-opted member of the Social Innovation& Entrepreneurship Development Fund of Hong Kong SAR. Owing to his outstanding leadership and development of the 24 hours operating Personal Emergency Link Service of the Senior Citizen Home Safety Association, he was awarded The Outstanding Social Entrepreneur (East Asia Region) in 2009 by Schwab Foundation. He is now actively involved the social innovation and entrepreneurship development in Hong Kong. He offers SE internship and visits for the students, so as to widen their exposure to the excitement of social enterprise operation. He also offers consultant advices to students and new start-ups who wish to take part in SE Challenge Competition or to involve in their own SE startups. He also serves as a mentor to the new start-up social entrepreneurs. Prior to this, he has served as the Founding Executive Director of Senior Citizen Home Safety Association from 1996 – 2012.
