Chief Executive Officer of New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association
Mr Thomas Chu Sai-ming is the Chief Executive Officer of New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (“The Association”). He has been working in the social service sector for over 30 years. Mr Chu has endeavored to explore, develop and promote the strengths and talents of PIR and Persons with Autism (PWAs) through various vocational training and individualized services since his early years. As he took up the role of Chief Executive Officer of The Association, he is committed to enhancing the Association’s professionalism and expanding its network to provide high quality mental health services for PIR, their families and the general public. Under his leadership, the Association achieved high quality outcomes. The Association has rolled out the “[330] Well-being Index” in March 2023, which enables individuals to conduct self-assessment and quickly review their well-being of body, mind, and spirit.
Apart from professional services, Mr. Chu serves in various public capacities to contribute to mental health development and social services in Hong Kong. He is now the Honorary Secretary of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Social Enterprises Limited, Rehabilitation Advisory Committee Member of Labour and Welfare Bureau, Lump Sum Grant Steering Committee Member of Social Welfare Department, Steering Committee Member on Review of Manpower for Healthcare Services in Residential Care Homes of Social Welfare Department, Management Committee Member and Convenor of Network on Services for Persons with Metal Illness of Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities, etc.
Mr Chu is also a seasoned registered social work who graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
